Abstract

The different models of explanation of the labor market, that show contributions from Adam Smith to present, are considered. The most important modern considerations, which explain the inflexibility of wages and the value of institutions in determining wages and employment, as well as how human resource management and business decisions determine wages and employment that make the behavior of employers and employees, agents, and employment and wage variables, are analyzed.
