Abstract

South American countries like Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, which once viewed Bolivia as their main natural gas supplier due to its reserves, location, and infrastructure, are now turning to more expensive but longer-term reliable Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) projects. Despite existing contracts with Bolivia, agreed volumes are no longer being met. These countries are investing in LNG infrastructure, accepting higher costs to secure stable supply, using advanced technology to liquefy gas, ship it in specialized tankers, and regasify it at their ports.
